Dragon Headdress
This was a project for my Costume Crafts class in college. We were to make a headdress of an animal: I chose a dragon. The main structure is made out of 6mm EVA foam, with the scales made out of 3mm. Over two bottles of super glue and 5 long podcast episodes were used to attach all the scales. The teeth and horns were made with Adapt-It pellets, which are placed in hot water to soften and shape. I then sealed the foam with rubber automotive spray and airbrushed it.
I hadn’t used an airbrush before this project, and I must say, I LOVED it. It’s gonna be hard to go back to spray paint.
A lot of the techniques I used here, I learned from Punished Props’ books and tutorials on YouTube. Make sure to check out their stuff!
